What Happened to Jamie Foxx?

Foxx gave his fans a fright last year when it was revealed in April that he had been hospitalized after an unspecified “medical complication.”

He opened up on what actually happened to him during his Netflix special, saying the bad signs started when he developed an agonizing headache.

“I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f*** to do,” he joked, adding he was unconscious for a number of weeks. “I don’t remember 20 days,” he added.

Foxx’s sister, Deidra Dixon, rushed him to the hospital and was told by doctors that he’d had “a brain bleed that has led to a stroke,” and if he wasn’t operated on immediately, he could die. “My sister knelt down outside the operating room and prayed the whole time,” Foxx said in the special.

He said recovering from the stroke and surgery was the worst year of his life, but thanked everyone who supported him, including fans who kept sending him well wishes.
