Two Additional Victims Identified in Maine Plane Crash That Killed Six
Authorities have identified two more victims in the private plane crash that killed all six people on board last month at Bangor International Airport in Maine.
According to the Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the newly identified victims are Jorden Reidel, the aircraft’s second pilot, and Shelby Kuyawa, a sommelier. The information was confirmed to PEOPLE by Bangor police and reported by ABC News and The Houston Chronicle.

Kuyawa was a 34-year-old from Hawaii, while Reidel, 33, was from Texas and served as co-pilot on the flight.
The crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. local time on Sunday, January 25, when a Bombardier Challenger 650 went down during takeoff amid deteriorating weather conditions. The aircraft burst into flames as a snowstorm moved into the area, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The FAA has stated that four passengers and two crew members were on board. The group was traveling from Houston to France’s Champagne region, with a scheduled fuel stop in Bangor.
Four of the victims had previously been identified. The pilot in command was Captain Jacob Hosmer, 47, of the Houston area. The passengers included Tara Arnold, a lawyer; Shawna Collins, an event planner; and Nick Mastrascusa, a chef and father of three.
Hosmer was flying an aircraft registered to a company sharing a Houston address with the personal injury law firm Arnold & Itkin, according to Reuters. He also listed the firm as his employer on LinkedIn. His death was confirmed by Bangor police, and his father told NBC affiliate KPRC that Hosmer was captaining the flight.

The firm’s founders, Kurt Arnold and Jason Itkin, were not on the plane, according to ABC affiliate KTRK. However, Kurt Arnold’s wife, Tara Arnold, was among those killed. Harris County Commissioner Lesley Briones described her as “a phenomenal person, a bold leader, and someone with a heart of service.”
Shawna Collins’s daughter confirmed her mother was on the flight, telling KTRK that they spoke shortly before takeoff. Collins was reportedly traveling to Europe for a business trip.
Nick Mastrascusa’s wife also confirmed his death. According to KTRK, Mastrascusa worked as a chef in some of the world’s most exclusive restaurants and resorts.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
