Survivor of Family Tragedy in Iowa Expresses Heart-Wrenching Feelings About His Late Father

The authorities identified the alleged shooter as 52-year-old Ryan Willis McFarland. It was reported that Ryan ended his own life with a gunshot after the police located and confronted him near a trail by the Mississippi River.

“While interacting with Ryan Willis McFarland, he committed suicide,” Chief Kies stated. “Officers and EMS personnel tried to provide medical assistance, but he was declared dead at the scene.”

“I am also incredibly grateful to have had such an outstanding, loving, and nurturing family throughout my life. I will forever and always love and miss them dearly,” he added, saying that he would continue to honor their memories.
