Superman Trailer – Where To Watch, Release Date

DC’s universe is ready to officially kick off with the first trailer for Superman, which is soaring into view soon.

As confirmed by Superman director James Gunn in a post on Twitter, we’ll be seeing David Corenswet in action for the first time as the Man of Steel on Thursday, 19 December.

The post also showed off the first poster for Superman, which features Corenswet soaring upwards dressed in his iconic red, blue and yellow attire. “Look up,” writes Gunn on the post, quoting the film’s tagline.

In addition, a user on Twitter has posted about an exclusive Superman press event scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday, 17 December). There, Warner Bros. will give those in attendance a behind-the-scenes peek at the Superman trailer, potentially with the addition of an introduction by the cast.

Afterwards, it won’t be long before the trailer releases online. Typically, behind-the-scenes trailers are screened to media and influencers a few days prior to their global launch.

It’s a way for news writers to get ahead of the story and prepare their coverage while limiting the amount of time in which leaks and spoilers can spread. Afterwards, the entire Internet can watch it, then inevitably scour through it frame by frame.

As well as Corenswet, Superman also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabel Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.

Rounding out the cast is Sara Sampaio playing Lex’s assistant Eve Teschmacher, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell as Clark Kent’s parents, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl, who’s set to star in her own movie called Woman of Tomorrow in 2026.

Filming finished on Superman in July, with director/DC co-CEO James Gunn writing “That’s a wrap,” on Instagram under an image of the cast posing in a snowy location. “God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life,” he continued in the post. “I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own.”

There was still work to be done, however. Gunn recently confirmed on Threads Superman had extra shooting days after the initial wrap, although nothing major. “Not a few days [of additional shooting]. We’re doing a day and a half of pickup shots. No scenes. No reshoots. Just a handful of individual shots to enhance the film.”
