A Tribute to Ozzy, but One Notable Absence

The six-meter-tall statue honoring the ‘Prince of Darkness’ was unveiled this week at Hellfest in Clisson, France, where heavy metal enthusiasts gathered to celebrate Ozzy’s lasting legacy. According to reports, the stone monument was created by French contemporary artist Philippe Pasqua and features Ozzy’s iconic concert slogan.

A closer view reveals the sculpture emerging from a bed of jagged stones. Ozzy is portrayed with his head raised and arms stretched skyward, while a plaque at the base reads ‘Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne’ along with his famous phrase, ‘Let the madness begin.’

This statue is one of several tributes that the Osbourne family has embraced since Ozzy’s passing at the age of 76 in July 2025.

Reports indicate that the rocker died from complications related to cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease, a condition he was diagnosed with in 2019.

Initially, Sharon did not publicly explain her absence from the ceremony.

Sharon Shares the Surprising Reason for Her Absence

On June 18, Sharon finally provided an explanation in an Instagram post:

"I’m sorry I couldn’t be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy’s statue. Unfortunately, I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week."

Her message continued, "A big thank you, Olivier Garnier, Ben Barbaud, and everyone at Hellfest. Special thank you to @philippe_pasqua_officiel for the absolutely stunning statue! 🙏"

Sharon did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding her hospitalization, leaving many fans concerned for her well-being.

While Sharon recuperated, her son shared a glimpse of the celebrations on Instagram the next day, accompanied by his father’s song ‘Hellraiser.’

One clip showcased fireworks lighting up the night sky above the festival grounds, as onlookers enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere celebrating the late heavy metal legend.

Her First Public Appearance Since Hospitalization

Just days after discussing her hospital visit, Sharon was seen back in public. Photos shared by The Sun captured her first outing since the hospitalization announcement.

She was photographed outside a building, clad in a long black coat over a blue button-up shirt and wide-leg black trousers. The television personality complemented her outfit with dark sunglasses and carried a large gray handbag.

This outing indicated her recovery, though she has not publicly commented on the reasons behind her recent health scare.

A Disturbing Health Incident She Still Can’t Explain

This isn’t the first time Sharon has faced an unexpected hospitalization. In December 2022, she experienced what TMZ called a medical emergency while filming at the Glen Tavern Inn in Santa Paula, California. Emergency services transported her to a hospital after she suddenly fell ill on set.

Later that day, her son Jack Osbourne reassured fans that she had been discharged and was back home after receiving approval from her doctors.

In a now-expired Instagram story, Jack mentioned, "She has been given the all clear from her medical team and is now home. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support. As to what happened to my mum — I’m gonna leave it to her to share about when she is ready," he reportedly said.

Weeks later, Sharon spoke about the alarming incident during her return to ‘The Talk UK.’ In a January 4, 2023, Instagram post about the interview, she wrote, "So happy to be back @thetalkuk! We chatted briefly about my holiday trip to the hospital. Although it’s still a mystery, I’m feeling fantastic and ready to get talking! 🇬🇧"

During the discussion, she admitted that doctors never figured out the cause of her collapse. "I wish I could, but I can’t. It was the weirdest thing. I was doing some filming, and suddenly they tell me that I fell, yeah, for 20 minutes."

"And I was in [the] hospital. I went to one hospital. They took me to another hospital, and I did every test over two days, and nobody knows why."

When asked if alcohol was a factor, Sharon laughed and responded, "No." She also confirmed, "Yeah, I am. Thank you," when another presenter asked if she was feeling better.

Over the years, Sharon has dealt with several serious health issues, including colon cancer in 2002 and a preventive double mastectomy in 2012 after learning about her genetic predisposition to breast cancer.

Currently, Sharon seems focused on her recovery while continuing to celebrate the memory of the ‘Children of the Grave’ singer, despite an unexpected hospital visit that prevented her from attending one of the latest tributes to his remarkable career.
