The tennis legend, 44, recently posted some heartwarming photographs of her family of four on Instagram, captured together following her sister Venus Williams’ wedding. In the images, Serena and her husband Alexis Ohanian, 42, were beaming as they photographed themselves with their two daughters, Adira, 2, and Olympia, 8, who coordinated in light blue dresses.
“Joy does not always roar sometimes it whispers. It important to savor those precious moments… I love this picture so I wanted to share it with you. ,” she captioned the post.
Growing Family
The couple welcomed their first daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., who goes by Olympia, in September 2017. They expanded their family five years later when Williams gave birth to their younger daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in August 2023.
Motherhood Over Trophies
In an April 2024 conversation with Byrdie, the devoted mom, who stepped away from tennis in September 2022, was asked what brings her the greatest happiness in life, and she responded “my kids,” confessing, “I can’t say that a Wimbledon trophy holds a candle to volunteering at my kid’s school.”
“I also hope my daughters see how many different passions I have—from tennis to beauty—and learn that they can lead dynamic careers and lives across their many interests,” she expressed.

Capturing Special Moments
Serena is embracing every moment with her children. Last April, the Wyn Beauty founder posted a delightful video on her Instagram with her daughter Adira, as the little one practiced identifying colors. Serena could be seen in the video speaking fluent French to her daughter and guiding her on which color to attempt next.
As soon as Adira correctly identified the color, she encouraged her to perform her signature “Serena, Come On!” tennis cheer. The toddler adorably complied, holding and shaking her little fist.

Cozy Cuddle Time
Then, in November, Serena posted a sweet photo of herself nestled in bed with her daughters, Olympia and Adira—or as she called them, “Momma’s cuddle buddies.” She shared the adorable photo to her Instagram on November 28th, showing the trio—and three stuffed friends—gathered in the same bed.
Olympia wore a white shirt with rainbow hearts and the empowering message, “The Future Is Bright,” while holding a brown stuffed animal. Adira in white pajamas with a striped collar, cuddled with a blue dragon with rainbow scales, and a big brown Squishmallow. They all gathered in bed with Mom—also in comfortable striped pajamas, and a protective leopard-print silk bonnet—for a cuddle.
The trio nestled together to watch two other cute sisters—Bluey and her little sibling, Bingo—on a tablet propped up in bed in what appeared to be a hotel room.
A New Chapter
Since retiring from professional tennis, Williams has fully embraced her role as a mother while continuing to pursue various business ventures and passions. Her social media presence frequently showcases the joy she finds in everyday moments with her daughters, from educational activities to simple family cuddles.
