Robert Irwin Strips Down for Bold Underwear Campaign: “Getting Your Gear Off Is Way Scarier Than Wrangling a Croc!”
|Robert Irwin, the 21-year-old son of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, is turning heads in a daring new campaign for Australian underwear brand Bonds. In the “Made for Down Under” campaign, Irwin poses in Bonds underwear alongside snakes, lizards, and spiders, embracing his adventurous spirit and Australia’s unique wildlife.C
Irwin shared that he had no hesitation about the nearly-nude photoshoot, describing it as a thrilling, new experience aligned with his adventurous spirit. He credited his supportive family, including mother Terri and sister Bindi, for always standing by him, and humorously speculated that his late father, Steve Irwin, would have responded to the photos with a few “Crikeys.”
Preparing for the photoshoot, Irwin stepped up his fitness regime, incorporating sprints on his 700-acre wildlife sanctuary at Australia Zoo and getting fitness tips from his bodybuilder mom and professional athlete brother-in-law, Chandler. His family, including his sister Bindi, fully supported the venture. For Irwin, the campaign is more than just a daring photoshoot—it’s a way to reach new audiences and continue his father’s legacy of wildlife conservation. He believes if the campaign draws attention to conservation, it’s well worth it.
The Bonds collection is now available in the U.S. on Amazon and the brand’s website.
