NBC Set to Invest Heavily in a Star-Studded Reunion That Could Revolutionize The Voice
NBC is preparing to splash the cash on a reunion of the Fab Four, an event that could bring about a dramatic transformation to The Voice.
Should the network’s plans come to fruition, the coaching lineup for the show’s 30th season will feature Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine, and Kelly Clarkson, according to an insider source. The source revealed, “For the 30th season, they’re planning to pull out all the stops as it marks a significant milestone. The final lineup is not yet set in stone since filming for the season won’t commence until late spring or early summer of 2026.
“There’s still a lot of water to flow under the bridge, and the entirety of season 29 still to navigate.
“However, the production team is eager to seal a deal that would see Blake and Adam reunite. They’ve been keen on this idea for a while, and believe that season 30 presents the perfect opportunity to make it a reality,” the source elaborated.
“Having Gwen join the party would be the icing on the cake. Kelly is the logical choice to complete the quartet, given her close personal and professional relationship with Blake. So, if all goes according to plan, the 30th season will feature Adam, Blake, Gwen, and Kelly. But nothing is confirmed as yet.
“The biggest hurdle is persuading Blake and Gwen to return, which would likely require a substantial financial outlay.
“Adding to the challenge is finding a way to accommodate Kelly’s hectic schedule and difficult year. A lot of puzzle pieces need to fall into place, but the team is committed to making it work.”
Kelly, aged 43, and Adam, aged 46, will both be part of the coaching staff for season 29, alongside John Legend. This will be the first time The Voice has featured only three coaches.
However, it is expected that the show will return to its usual four-coach format for the 30th season.
Adam and Blake were among the original coaches and their close friendship played a significant role in the show’s initial popularity.
Both Adam, the lead singer of Maroon 5, and Blake, the country music star, were part of the show’s first season which premiered in 2011.
Adam was the first one to leave the show, citing on-set tension as the reason for his departure in May 2019.
After a hiatus of several years, he returned for the 27th season in 2025.
Kelly, who also hosts her own daytime talk show on the network, has been a sporadic member of The Voice’s coaching staff since season 14 in the spring of 2018.
Similarly, Gwen, 56, has had an on-off relationship with The Voice since her debut in the 7th season in 2014.
Blake, 49, holds the record for the longest stint as a coach, having been a part of 23 consecutive seasons.
He was a founding member of the show’s coaching staff before announcing his departure after the 23rd season. Despite no longer being part of the show, Blake has remained closely connected with his reality TV family, appearing in several social media videos for The Voice.
