Mike Fisher Urges Carrie Underwood to Take a Step Back as Marriage Becomes the Priority

Carrie Underwood is making a major life shift — and her fans are taking notice.

The 42-year-old country superstar surprised viewers on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on January 23, revealing that she will not be touring in 2026. Behind the decision lies a deeply personal reason: family.

A source close to the couple tells Star that Carrie plans to focus on her marriage to husband Mike Fisher and spend quality time with their two sons, Isaiah (9) and Jacob (7).

“Carrie is completely drained, both physically and emotionally,” the source says. “She’s spent years juggling a packed schedule, long tours, and extended periods away from Mike.”

The retired NHL star, 45, has been incredibly supportive, but according to the source, he’s now ready to have his wife fully present at home.

After a hectic 2025, which included her Las Vegas residency at Resorts World Theatre and a role as an American Idol judge, Carrie’s life has been nonstop.

“Mike and those close to Carrie have been encouraging her to slow down and enjoy what she already has in Tennessee,” the source explains. “Her farm is a dream, yet she rarely has time to truly appreciate it.”

That’s about to change.

“With more free time, Carrie plans to embrace the outdoors gardening, caring for animals, and recharging her energy,” the source says. “Her top priority now is reassessing what matters most, starting with her marriage.”
