Mel B Shares Rare Photos of Son Angel on His 18th Birthday: “You’ll Forever Be My Baby”
|Mel B is marking a major milestone with love, pride — and a few rarely seen snapshots.
In a heartfelt Instagram tribute, the Spice Girls alum celebrated her son Angel’s 18th birthday by sharing a series of rare photos spanning his childhood and teenage years. Angel is her son with comedian and actor Eddie Murphy, and the emotional post gave fans a glimpse into their close-knit bond.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY ANGEL !!! I cannot believe you’re 18,” Mel B wrote on April 3. “You are so special and so bright and so talented. I couldn’t be prouder of watching you grow and become the person you are — but you’ll forever be my babyyyy.”
The Instagram carousel included adorable throwbacks of Angel as a baby, shots of him with siblings Phoenix and Madison, and a few behind-the-scenes moments at America’s Got Talent, where he joined his mom on set.
A Shared Birthday With Dad Eddie Murphy
Angel shares his birthday with his famous father, Eddie Murphy, whom Mel B briefly dated in 2006. Though Murphy initially denied paternity, he later acknowledged Angel as his daughter. Now 18, Angel has shared his preferred pronouns on social media and is stepping into adulthood under the spotlight — but clearly supported by a strong family foundation.
Mel B is also mom to Phoenix, 26, whom she shares with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, and Madison, 13, her daughter with ex Stephen Belafonte. In a recent Instagram post, Mel B shared a sweet photo of all three children vacationing together, captioned simply: “All my baby’s.”
A Proud Mama — Even if Her Kids Steal Her Style
During a previous appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Mel B joked that while her kids might not always appreciate her Spice Girl fame, her vintage wardrobe has suddenly become cool again.
“My 24-year-old thinks I’m kind of cool now because all my clothes have come back ’round in fashion,” she laughed. “I see her stealing things from my closet!”
As Angel turns 18, Mel B’s message remains clear: no matter how grown-up her kids get, they’ll always be her babies.
