Lily Collins Celebrates Dad Phil’s 75th Birthday with Heartfelt Tribute Amid His Health Struggles
Lily Collins honored her father, music legend Phil Collins, on his 75th birthday with a touching Instagram post, sharing rare photos of the pair and celebrating their special bond.
The Emily in Paris star, 36, posted snapshots showing her smiling alongside her father, including candid polaroids and a sweet childhood photo of Phil holding a young Lily. She expressed her gratitude for their time together on such a milestone occasion.

“Yesterday Dad turned 75, and I feel so grateful to have celebrated together,” Lily wrote. “For all you’ve accomplished, the joy you’ve brought to so many, the lessons we’ve learned, the memories we’ve shared, and the new ones to come—thank you. I count myself so lucky to have hugged you, laughed with you, and reminisced on such a monumental day. Love you to the moon and back.”
The tribute comes shortly after Phil revealed he has hired a 24-hour live-in nurse to assist with his ongoing health challenges, including nerve damage, knee issues, kidney problems, and type 2 diabetes. On BBC’s Eras podcast, the Genesis frontman shared candidly about the difficulties he has faced over the past few years.
“It’s an ongoing thing,” Phil explained. “I’ve had challenges with my knee. I had everything that could go wrong with me, did go wrong with me. I got COVID in the hospital, my kidneys started to back up—it all seemed to converge at once. It’s been difficult, interesting, frustrating… but it’s all right now.”
Phil retired from drumming and his performances with Genesis in March 2022, citing the toll his health issues had taken on his hands and legs. Reflecting on life after drumming, he admitted in the documentary Phil Collins: Drummer First that stepping away was a major adjustment.
Despite his health setbacks, Phil remains close with his children, including Lily, as well as Joely, Simon, Nicholas, and Matthew from his previous marriages. Lily’s birthday tribute not only celebrates her father’s incredible career and legacy but also highlights the enduring love and admiration between father and daughter.
