Noteworthy actor Kiefer Sutherland is slated to feature in the forthcoming special, CBS News: Rob Reiner — Scenes from a Life, alongside Albert Brooks, Kathy Mates, and Michael Douglas. In a sneak peek of the special, Sutherland reminisces about a remarkable day on the set of the 1992 courtroom drama ‘A Few Good Men’ with director Rob Reiner. Rob and his wife, Michele Reiner, tragically passed away at their residence on Dec. 14. Their son Nick has been apprehended and faces two charges of first-degree murder.
Sutherland expresses his respect and admiration for Rob Reiner’s work. In an excerpt from the soon-to-air CBS News: Rob Reiner — Scenes from a Life, the 58-year-old actor shares his memory of the day he and his co-star Jack Nicholson filmed the famous courtroom scene in ‘A Few Good Men,’ where Colonel Nathan Jessup famously declares, “You can’t handle the truth!”
“Everyone remained silent, then Rob approached Jack Nicholson and whispered, ‘Would you like to do another take?’ To which Jack Nicholson responded, ‘Well, we’re here,'” Sutherland recounts in the one-hour special, set to broadcast on Sunday, Dec. 21. “So another take was done, and it was just as impressive.”
Originally, the plan was to film throughout the day, but Reiner was so pleased with the scene that he decided to wrap up early and give everyone the rest of the day off.

“The day’s shoot was planned to last all day, but Rob looked at everyone and said, ‘I couldn’t ask for more, so you guys can take the rest of the day off,'” Sutherland remembers.
The CBS News special delves into the lives of Rob and his wife, Michele Reiner, who were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14. The special also features “fresh, heartfelt interviews” with Albert Brooks, Kathy Bates, Anette Bening, Michael Douglas, Jerry O’Connell, and Mandy Patinkin, according to CBS News.

Following the tragic loss of their parents, Jake and Romy have expressed their “unfathomable sorrow.”
