Joe Rogan Reveals What New Jersey’s Mystery Drones Could Be—’Sus’
|Joe Rogan has labeled the government response to the mystery drones in New Jersey as “sus.”
A surge in drone sightings has baffled New England Law enforcement, as well as the FBI, since November, with authorities unsure about the nature and origin of the drones despite extensive security protocols.
Large drones spotted across the state in recent weeks have evaded traditional detection methods, according to the Department of Homeland Security. However, on Thursday, White House National Security spokesperson John Kirby said the majority of these sightings were not drones and they do not pose a national security or public safety threat.
Rogan reshared a video of Kirby’s comments to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote: “This is what the kids call ‘sus.'” At the time of writing, it had been viewed 1.5 million times.
In a follow-up post, Rogan added: “I want to believe it’s adderalled up incels holed up in a basement f****** with ‘the man’ more than I want it to be aliens. #iwanttobelieve.” This post had more than 459,00 views.
Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Rogan and the White House for comment on Friday.
In the clip Rogan shared, Kirby said the aircraft weren’t foreign and attempted to ease fears, albeit failing to provide a complete explanation of what was happening. Instead, Kirby stated that there was “no malicious activity” and no “confirmed sightings” within restricted airspace.
“We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat or have a foreign nexus,” Kirby told reporters.
“The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are investigating these sightings, and they’re working closely with the state and local law enforcement to provide resources using numerous detection methods to better understand their origin.”
He said the agencies used “very sophisticated electronic detection technologies” but hadn’t been able to “corroborate any of the reported visual sightings.”
Kirby also denied the aircraft were drones, adding: “To the contrary, upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft being operated lawfully.”
This isn’t the first time Rogan, whose podcast The Joe Rogan Experience is among the world’s most listened-to shows, has mentioned the topic of aliens. During an episode with writer, producer and director David Holthouse released on April 2, the two men discussed whether the Bible depicts UFO sightings and drug use.
Among the several ideas thrown forward, Rogan floated the theory that UFOs have always been present on Earth, before pulling up scripture from the Bible’s Old Testament Book of Ezekiel, which speaks of an encounter with unknown beings.
Holthouse and Rogan also spoke about various UFO sightings over the years and theorized that they could be evidence of top-secret military projects or alien life forms.
And in April, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson mentioned a mysterious government scheme called “Project Aqua,” linked to UFOs, during an interview on Rogan’s show, in which Carlson talked at length about extraterrestrial life.
Carlson spoke to Rogan about his theories on alien life and new information the U.S. government has begun to reveal on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP).
Rogan has had multiple guests on his podcasts to discuss UAPs including, among others, David Grusch, the Air Force veteran who told a House Oversight Committee hearing in July 2023 that “the U.S. government is operating with secrecy—above Congressional oversight.”
