Jennifer Lawrence has never shied away from pushing boundaries, but in No Hard Feelings, she redefines daring. The Oscar-winning actress revealed she spent an entire day filming a now-infamous nude fight scene for the racy Netflix comedy—an experience she says was more hilarious than uncomfortable.
In her most provocative role to date, Lawrence plays Maddie, a financially struggling woman who agrees to help socially awkward teen Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) gain confidence—and lose his virginity—before he heads off to college. The film blends raunchy humor with heart, and one scene in particular became a standout moment for its unapologetic boldness.
Speaking with Variety, Lawrence shared that despite the scene’s physical and revealing nature, she didn’t hesitate to go all in.
“Everyone in my life and my team is doing the right thing and going, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?’ I didn’t even have a second thought. It was hilarious to me,” she said.
The scene features Maddie confronting a group of drunken teens trying to steal her clothes at the beach. What follows is a fully nude, full-contact fight sequence—no props, no modesty tricks, and no camera cheats. Just Lawrence, completely exposed, throwing punches and kicks in a wild, comedic brawl that’s now been hailed as one of the most unforgettable scenes of her career.
Though the final cut runs only a few minutes, the sequence took an entire day to film, demanding physical and emotional endurance.
Co-star Feldman praised the professionalism and comfort on set, calling the environment “entirely professional” despite the risqué nature of the scene. Lawrence even poked fun at the situation, recalling a moment when she motor-boated him mid-scene:
“Even when I put my T-shirt over your head and motor-boated you? You felt safe?”
“It was an exclusively sterile and professional environment,” Feldman laughed in response.
No Hard Feelings currently holds an 86% score on Rotten Tomatoes and has become a surprise streaming hit thanks to its blend of sharp comedy, sweet character dynamics, and Lawrence’s fearless performance.
As audiences continue to applaud her comedic timing and confidence, Lawrence’s turn in No Hard Feelings marks a refreshingly raw—and riotously funny—chapter in her ever-evolving career.
