Jake Paul Hospitalized with Jaw Fracture After Losing to Anthony Joshua in Heavyweight Clash
The heated match between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua took place at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday, Dec. 19.

The ring was graced by the internet personality Jake Paul, 28, and the former unified heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, 36, who were slated to fight for eight rounds. The match saw Paul hit the floor four times before finally succumbing to a powerful right hook from Joshua in the sixth round, leading to Joshua’s victory as reported by ESPN and Sky Sports. Following the loss, Paul revealed on Instagram, ‘Broken jaw guys. Thanks for all the support I’m ok 👍🏽.’
The fight extended beyond the expectations of many, with Paul maintaining an energetic demeanor throughout the first half, successfully evading most of Joshua’s heavy punches. However, as the match progressed, Paul began to tire, being knocked down multiple times and recovering twice in the fifth round.
In a last-ditch effort, Paul threw a right hook at Joshua, but was ultimately taken down by the champion. Reflecting on the fight, Joshua commented during a post-match press conference, ‘Jake did well while it lasted… but fighting isn’t just physical, it’s psychological. I told Jake, ‘There will come a time when I’m going to take your spirit, and you’ll either surrender or get knocked out.”

In a post-fight interview, Joshua shared, ‘This fight had high stakes, immense pressure, and huge expectations, so I had to deliver — many people doubt me. I took Jake as seriously as I needed to, but most importantly, I took myself as seriously as I needed to. I have respect for myself, for boxing, and I understand what it takes to step into the ring. You have to be ready, and one misstep could cost you in that ring.’
Even though he emerged victorious, Joshua admitted, ‘It wasn’t the best performance.’ He further explained, ‘The ultimate goal was to pin him down and hurt him. That’s what the people wanted, and that was on my mind. It just took longer than expected.’
Joshua, while reflecting on his opponent’s efforts, praised Paul, stating, ‘Jake Paul did exceptionally well tonight, I want to acknowledge his effort. He kept getting up, over and over again. It was a tough match for him, but he never stopped trying to find a way through. You have to give Jake his due respect for persevering.’
Having a record of 29-4, Joshua is now gearing up for a face-off against Tyson Fury.
