FBI Releases Disturbing Images of Possible Suspect in Disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s Mother

More than a week after Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY show anchor Savannah Guthrie, vanished from her Tucson, Arizona, home, the FBI has released chilling new images of a possible suspect.

Federal authorities confirmed on Tuesday, Feb. 10, that photos and video footage connected to the ongoing investigation have now been made public as they intensify efforts to locate Nancy, who is believed to have been abducted in the early morning hours of February 1.

Masked Figure Captured on Doorbell Camera

The newly released images are believed to have been captured by a doorbell camera at Nancy Guthrie’s home. They show an individual dressed in dark clothing, wearing a full-face ski mask, gloves, and a backpack. Investigators say the person also appears to be carrying a holstered weapon at their waist.

In one of the most unsettling details, the suspect seems to be holding a flashlight in their mouth, suggesting they were attempting to navigate the property in near-total darkness.

Suspect Attempts to Disable Camera

According to the FBI, one video clip shows the individual actively trying to block the doorbell camera, first using their hand and then attempting to obscure the lens with brush gathered from a nearby flower bed.

A second, shorter video captures the moment the person first approaches the residence. The suspect appears to be hunched over, seemingly trying to avoid having their face recorded.

Multi-Agency Investigation Ongoing

Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has triggered a massive search effort involving local law enforcement, the FBI, U.S. Border Patrol, and several other agencies. Despite extensive searches and multiple leads, authorities have not yet confirmed her location.

Investigators are urging the public to carefully review the images and videos and report anything that could help identify the individual shown.
