Donny Osmond, Jennifer Garner’s Childhood Crush, Surprises Her on Her Birthday

Following the viewing of a video message, Osmond quietly approached Garner from behind, breaking into a chorus of Happy Birthday. Garner, immediately recognizing his voice, responded with shock and joy, spinning around to embrace the pop icon. The delight on Osmond’s face was palpable as he was able to surprise her in such a way. The video of the moment can be seen below.

After their embrace, Garner felt the warmth of the moment and had to take a breather to remove her jumper, which elicited a hearty laugh from Osmond. Osmond then presented a cake to the actress, decorated with a picture of a young Garner and the words “13 going on 50! Love Donny!”. Garner has never been shy about her teenage infatuation with Osmond, a fact that the cake design cleverly alludes to.

But Osmond wasn’t finished yet. He stuck around to perform some of his hit songs with Garner. The video showcases the duo sweetly singing Osmond’s duet with Marie Osmond, “Make the World Go Away”. Osmond’s golden voice was on full display, singing beautifully, while Garner, a talented singer herself, complemented him perfectly. The video of Donny and Marie performing the song in their prime can be seen below.

Always the gentleman, Osmond shared his thoughts on Instagram after the surprise: “Surprising fans is one of my favorite things to do, and when the opportunity came to surprise the wonderful Jennifer Garner on her 50th birthday, I was thrilled. Thanks for allowing me to celebrate with you!”

Garner also took to Instagram to express her excitement at meeting her childhood idol, stating: “My first (pre)birthday surprise was a big one – the one and only, a legend in his own right, the object of my childhood admiration and dedication – Donny Osmond made a special appearance to blow my purple socks off. He took an hour and a half of his day to sit with me, sing my favorite songs, and show me what it means to be a class act. Thank you, Donny!”
