Donald Trump makes ‘incredibly inappropriate’ statement about astronauts stranded in space as delays continue

President Trump has made some ‘reckless’ remarks about the two NASA astronauts stuck in space as she spoke about when he will be able to bring them home.

Last June, Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore jetted to space on what was supposed to be an eight-day trip, but several months later and the pair are yet to return to Earth.

They faced issues with the Boeing capsule upon their arrival at the International Space Station, which meant it wasn’t safe for the spacecraft to bring them home.

Nine months and a new president later, Williams and Wilmore will hopefully be coming home very soon.

Sadly there has been several delays in bringing the pair back, something which Wilmore’s 16-year-old daughter has blamed on ‘negligence’ and ‘a lot of politics’.

“It’s just been issue after issue after issue,” she added.

During a press conference on Thursday (March 6), Donald Trump was asked about the duo and updated reporters on their plans.

But his answer took an unexpected turn as the POTUS starting talking about Williams’ hair and the prospect of the two astronauts failing in love.

“They’ve been left up there,” said Trump. “I hope they like each other… maybe they’ll love each other. I don’t know.”

It should be noted that both Williams and Wilmore are happily married to partners who are waiting for them back at home.

Trump went on: “But they’ve been left up there. Think of it. And I see the woman with the wild hair. Good solid head of hair she’s got.

“There’s no kidding. There’s no games with her hair.”

People have since reacted to Trump’s comments. One person penned on Twitter: “How incredibly inappropriate.”

Someone else questioned: “Does anyone think this is normal?”

A different person quipped that the president is seemingly a ‘hair expert’ now.

“Trump’s reckless comments about the astronauts stranded at the ISS are not just irresponsible—they undermine the gravity of the situation,” fumed another social media user.

“These brave individuals are facing real challenges, and they deserve support, not distractions. Leadership requires stability and focus. It’s time to seriously consider invoking the 25th Amendment,” they continued.

Elsewhere, some people suggested that Williams and Wilmore should stay in space in comparison to Earth.

Someone said: “At this point they may be better off in space.”

“I bet they’re saying to each other, you know what, maybe we should just stay up here for a bit longer,” penned another.

It’s hoped that the two astronauts will finally start their journey home on or around March 19, says USA Today.
