Carrie Underwood Delights Congregation with Surprise Christmas Performance
Visitors at a Nashville Christmas gathering were taken aback when the melodious voice of Carrie Underwood graced their local church. Underwood has never shied away from expressing her Christian faith. In fact, her religious community was the first to hear her sing in public. While she is known primarily as a country artist, Underwood embraced her spiritual side a few years back, releasing a Christmas album, My Gift, in 2020, and a hymn compilation, My Savior, two years on. Her hymn album even garnered her a Best Roots Gospel Album Grammy in 2022.

In August 2024, Carrie Underwood astonished her congregation by leading the worship.
Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee was gifted with a surprise Carrie Underwood performance during the summer. The “Good Girl” vocalist took the stage with the church band to deliver a stunning rendition of “Goodness of God.”
Her participation in the performance was not previously announced, leaving the entire congregation astonished.
Underwood repeated this surprise act at the church’s annual Christmas program, Sounds of Christmas, held on Saturday, December 14.
Her participation was kept a secret once again, even as another American Idol star, Season 14 runner-up Clark Beckham, was announced. For a mere $5 per ticket, church attendees were treated to two unexpected performances by the Grammy award-winning artist. She sang “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “O Holy Night,” both tracks from her album My Gift.
Interestingly, the church has yet to post about Underwood’s performance, choosing instead to focus on the other performances from that event. This decision has been met with respect and understanding.
Underwood, clad in a modest sparkling green top and a black skirt, showcased her impressive vocal range on “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” The TikTok video ended before the applause could truly start, but it’s a safe bet that she received a standing ovation!
Watch her perform “O Holy Night,” a beloved Christmas tune in her collection, in the video below.
