Jiggly Caliente, Fierce Star of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ and ‘Drag Race Philippines,’ Dies at 44

Jiggly Caliente, the vibrant and beloved queen who rose to fame on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and later served as a judge on “Drag Race Philippines,” has passed away at the age of 44. Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news, revealing that she died peacefully on April 27, surrounded by loved ones, after complications from a severe infection that had led to surgery and the loss of most of her right leg.

Born Bianca Castro-Arabejo in San Pedro, Philippines, Jiggly built a legacy that stretched far beyond the stage. After moving to the United States, she carved out a space for herself with infectious energy, fierce wit, and an unwavering commitment to living her truth. She made her unforgettable debut on Season 4 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” placing eighth, before returning for “All Stars 6.” In 2022, Jiggly became a judge on “Drag Race Philippines,” where she celebrated Filipino drag talent for three seasons. Along the way, she also came out publicly as transgender in 2016, becoming a fearless advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

Beyond reality TV, Jiggly dazzled in shows like FX’s “Pose” and “Search Party,” and even performed on “Saturday Night Live.” In 2018, she dropped her debut hip-hop album, “T.H.O.T. Process,” collaborating with some of the biggest names from the Drag Race family. Her friends and colleagues are now paying tribute to her impact: Jinkx Monsoon remembered her as someone who lived every moment fully, while Michelle Visage called her “an angel” whose laughter and energy filled every room. The official Drag Race account summed it up simply: Jiggly’s light will never be forgotten.

In a world that too often tries to dim unique voices, Jiggly Caliente stood proudly, fought fiercely, and loved loudly. Her legacy will continue to slay — and inspire — for generations to come.
