‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Drops in Two Parts This Fall — Jenna Ortega Returns With a Killer New Cast
|She’s back — and she’s not done solving mysteries.
Netflix has officially dropped the first teaser for “Wednesday” Season 2, confirming that the hit gothic series starring Jenna Ortega will return in two parts this year: Part 1 premieres August 6, followed by Part 2 on September 3.
The streamer also unveiled new stills and a packed cast list, including several jaw-dropping additions that are sure to shake up Nevermore Academy.
Ortega, who became a breakout star with her chilling and deadpan portrayal of Wednesday Addams, is back — and this time, she’s also wearing the producer hat. The story continues to follow Wednesday through her years as a student at Nevermore, where she battles new threats, hones her psychic powers, and unearths even darker secrets about her family’s past.
Returning cast members include Emma Myers (Enid), Joy Sunday (Bianca), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Victor Dorobantu (Thing), Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams, and Fred Armisen as the delightfully strange Uncle Fester.
But the real surprise is the all-star lineup of new characters joining Season 2. Steve Buscemi and Billie Piper lead the new cast, alongside Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor. And that’s just the beginning. In a blend of horror, comedy, and prestige TV royalty, the guest star list includes Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, Haley Joel Osment, Joanna Lumley, Frances O’Connor, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.
Netflix is staying tight-lipped about the role of Lady Gaga, who will appear in a mysterious capacity this season — fueling rumors that she could be playing a teacher, rival, or something more sinister.
Tim Burton returns as executive producer and director for select episodes, continuing to give the series its signature gothic edge. Directing duties will also be shared by Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson, with creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar once again serving as showrunners.
Season 1 of Wednesday smashed Netflix records, becoming one of the platform’s most-watched English-language series of all time. With a darker storyline, deeper character arcs, and a supercharged supporting cast, Season 2 is expected to take the franchise to an even bolder level.
Get ready: Wednesday Addams is coming back — and she’s bringing ghosts, grudges, and Gaga with her.
