Adam Brody Is Back in Black (Cape): First Look at Season 2 of Netflix’s Hit ‘Nobody Wants This’

Netflix’s breakout dramedy Nobody Wants This is officially back in production — and the first photos from set are already sending fans into a frenzy. Returning to his role as Rabbi Noah, Adam Brody was spotted filming Season 2 in Los Angeles, and let’s just say… this isn’t your typical rabbinical attire.

Dressed in what appears to be a Halloween — or possibly Purim — costume, Brody was seen in full character wearing smudged black eyeliner and a sweeping black cape, ditching the traditional yarmulke for something a bit more theatrical. While the exact storyline remains under wraps, this playful twist in costuming hints that Season 2 might be diving into cultural festivities with a little dark comedy flair.

The much-anticipated sophomore season began filming on April 4, and while plot details are still being tightly guarded, fans now know for sure that Brody is bringing back the same chaotic charm that made his take on Noah a standout in Season 1.

A Real-Life Reunion Onscreen

Also seen on set? Brody’s real-life wife, Leighton Meester, who joins the cast as Abby, the school nemesis of Kristen Bell’s character, Joanne. Now an Instagram mummy influencer, Abby is set to shake up the dynamic in a big way.

Season 1, which debuted in September 2024, quickly became one of Netflix’s surprise hits, praised for its offbeat blend of L.A. romance, spiritual crisis, and millennial malaise. Viewers were captivated by its sharp humor, Jewish cultural commentary, and Brody’s layered performance as a rabbi in the midst of a personal reinvention.

So it came as no surprise when Netflix greenlit a second season just two weeks after the premiere. Production is currently underway in Los Angeles, and Season 2 is slated to debut later in 2025.

While fans eagerly await plot twists, awkward love triangles, and new spiritual dilemmas, one thing’s for sure: Nobody Wants This has become the show everybody wants more of.
