Paramount has released the first trailer for 1923 season 2, and there’s a lot to love for fans of Yellowstone.
Set roughly a century before Yellowstone, 1923 serves as an origin story, setting up the events of Taylor Sheridan’s epic ranching drama.
1923 season 2 sees Harrison Ford and Helen Mirran reprise their roles as the ranchers fighting to protect their property from devious rivals, as well as the ever-encroaching arm of the government.
“This ranch is under attack,” Ford growls in the trailer. “Our whole way of life is under attack.” By who? That would be Timothy Dalton, who plays powerful landowner Donald Whitfield. Together with Jerome Flynn’s sheep-herder Banner Creighton, they’ll form the primary antagonists of the upcoming season.
As per Paramount‘s official synopsis: “In season 2, a cruel winter brings new challenges and unfinished business to Jacob (Ford) and Cara (Mirren) back at Dutton ranch. With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana. Meanwhile, Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.”

In season 2, according to the plot outline, he’ll finally make it home.
